Hamilton Beach Breakfast Burrito Maker Recap and Blueberry Smoothie

I was hungry for something with egg today and made this following recipe for lunch.  Just use this as a basic idea and use up what is in your fridge and freezer like I did.

 BASIL CHICKEN SOFT TACO

Green onion tops, frozen or fresh
Corn tortillas - 2     fresh or from the freezer (used a butter knife to separate 2 frozen ones  from the rest)
 Pre-cooked sliced left-over chicken breast    https://www.tripleclicks.com/16585161/detail?item=567077
1 slice of cheese
1 egg
Onion, chopped
Cilantro or Parsley, chopped    https://www.tripleclicks.com/16585161/detail?item=502083
Basil leaves - 4
Fresh spinach for toppings and served with
Picante Sauce

Quick and easy with no trip to the store.  Usually I divide the tortillas but they stuck together this time and made a thicker, firmer shell.

Use my earlier posts of Hamilton Beach Breakfast Burrito Maker for 10/7/16 and 11/9/16 for directions on how to use this machine and ideas for seasoning the egg with cooking times.  Use 2017 April's first week on making the smoothie.

 Blueberry Smoothie

2 cups juice (I used Ocean Spray 100% Juice Cranberry Pineapple)
1 bag of frozen Blueberries 10 oz.
1/2 - 1 Banana

Yet Another Smoothie

Grape Cranberry Raspberry Blackberry  Smoothie

2 cups juice- I used 10 oz. Ocean Spray, Cranberry Concord Grape 100% Juice and 6 oz. water

1 package, 12 oz. Mixed Berries of Strawberry Blackberry and Raspberry

1 banana, optional

See the end of March listing for how to make this and use this machine.  You may add more water to thin this if needed.  The empty bottle works nice to fill with the smoothie and take with you in the car or lunchbox.

General Electric Food Processor/Blender

It's Smoothie Time.  Here is one of my favorite's!  It's so easy to make.  Place it all in the blender and turn on, that's it!

Kelly's Tropical Smoothie

10 oz. Jennifer's Garden Tropical Blend of Sun Ripened Quick Frozen Fruit (Papaya, Banana, Pineapple and Mango) from the one dollar store, Dollar Tree   https://www.dollartree.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=StoreLocations

1 cup Simply Nature Organic 100% Apple Juice  from Aldi

1 cup Simply Nature Organic 7 Super Fruits juice (Pomegranate, Grape, Strawberry, Tart Cherry, Fig, Mulberry and Cranberry) also from Aldi   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldi

1 cup choice of:  water, Ginger Ale, Sprite, 7-Up, or another sparkling drink

Set blender top on the machine base, lock into place.

Add all ingredients.  You will use the whole bag of the frozen fruit.

 Cover with the lid.

Press the stir button a few seconds then press the liquefy button.

Press the off button.

 Remove lid.

Pour into your serving glass and enjoy.

Use any juice and fruit blends you like, fresh or frozen.  I used water for this time.  You can add more sweetener, sugar or honey if needed.

This machine, though old, is a very high quality machine.  It also has a processor attachment and I use them a lot.  I bought this machine from a thrift store (used) with a birthday gift of money and have been extremely pleased with it.  Later on I will be doing a food processor review and you will see this machine again.  To see other types of blenders:

Induction Cooktop

After 2 unsucessfull attempts to use this new machine, I thought to delay the review to March.  My 3rd attempt was sucessfull.  My pan ware this time was a iron skillet.  Only pans that a magnet can stick to the bottom can be used, and then the burner will turn on.

Induction Cook Top  Reved Up Noodle Soup

1 pkg. ramen noodle soup with seasoning packet
2 cups water
2 heapings cups or more of your favorite vegetables ( garlic, celery, onion, carrots and broccoli).  Bring to a boil and cook everything but the pasta for 5 minutes.  Add pasta, unfold when it softens and cook 3-4 more minutes.  At serving time top with green onion or chives, green garlic top and cilantro.

For this second one I changed it a bit using frozen vegetables, 1-3 teaspoons butter and green onions,  It has more liquid because of the frozen vegetables.

1.  Put everything in the cold oiled cast iron pan.
2.  Set on the burner.
3.  Plug in.
4.  Push the start, hold till red light shows or it says "on".
5.  Press boiling button.  Unfold the pasta after about 1 minute.  Cook 5 more minutes.  Smaller sized     vegetables then what is shown here would work better.
6.  Push off button and unplug machine.

Add any toppings you like.

Makes 1 or 2 servings.

The cook top surface does not get hot, only the burner area.
