Induction Cooktop

After 2 unsucessfull attempts to use this new machine, I thought to delay the review to March.  My 3rd attempt was sucessfull.  My pan ware this time was a iron skillet.  Only pans that a magnet can stick to the bottom can be used, and then the burner will turn on.

Induction Cook Top  Reved Up Noodle Soup

1 pkg. ramen noodle soup with seasoning packet
2 cups water
2 heapings cups or more of your favorite vegetables ( garlic, celery, onion, carrots and broccoli).  Bring to a boil and cook everything but the pasta for 5 minutes.  Add pasta, unfold when it softens and cook 3-4 more minutes.  At serving time top with green onion or chives, green garlic top and cilantro.

For this second one I changed it a bit using frozen vegetables, 1-3 teaspoons butter and green onions,  It has more liquid because of the frozen vegetables.

1.  Put everything in the cold oiled cast iron pan.
2.  Set on the burner.
3.  Plug in.
4.  Push the start, hold till red light shows or it says "on".
5.  Press boiling button.  Unfold the pasta after about 1 minute.  Cook 5 more minutes.  Smaller sized     vegetables then what is shown here would work better.
6.  Push off button and unplug machine.

Add any toppings you like.

Makes 1 or 2 servings.

The cook top surface does not get hot, only the burner area.

The Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker

See here for the picture:  https://www.tripleclicks.com/16585161/detail?item=278259

This is the single one.  See my earlier blogs about many different things you can make with this machine.  It's also offered on the auction.  My favorite sandwich is the one made with imitation crab.

Keurig Update: Hot Soup Anyone?

On cool days I like to have hot soup for lunch.  Today I'll be perking up a dry mix by adding in some favorite things.  Choose any soup brand you like.  This Bear Creek Country Kitchens is one of the better dry mix soups I've tasted.  Since I had turkey breast, rice and fresh cilantro and basil, I choose to stir it in also.  Eat it plain or stir in your favorite cooked items, top with a few twists from the fresh black pepper mill and you are ready to eat.  If you don't like to cook or eat in a throw away container, just pour the dry mix into a large mug or bowl instead.  Use a kitchen sissors to snip cut the meat and herbs.  See my earlier blogs about how to use this machine.

Creamy Chicken with Rice Soup

1.  1 cup of instant dry mix soup
2.  8 oz. plus 4 oz. hot water
3.  Stir well in the corners of the cup, cover and let sit for 3 minutes.  Stir again and eat as is, or add in and stir the following after the 1st  minute of sitting:
1 slice deli turkey breast, chopped
1/4 cup cooked rice (1 part brown rice to 3 parts white long grain rice, cooked, used here).
     3 sprigs cilantro, chopped
      2 basil leaves, chopped
     Pepper Mill

If it's not as hot as you like because of the add ins, just warm it up in the microwave.
