Use a Keurig for anytime you need to use hot water to prepare and cook an item, like instant oatmeal, ramen noodle soup or instant hot soups, etc. Please leave comments for other ways it might be useful.

Four Plus Ways to Use a Keurig 2.0 Hot Brewer
Four Plus Ways To Use a Keurig 2.0 Hot Brewer
Standard cup with tea bag
1. Plug in machine.
2. Add filtered water in reservoir to the fill line.
3. Place a tea bag in a mug on the base under the spout.
4. Push the "on" button, wait while it preheats.
5. Lift and close the bar lever by the button.
6. Push the "continue" to dispense hot water.
7. Choose cup size.
8. Push the black button.
9. Turn off machine or can continue to preheat water if wanting additional cups.
10. Let the tea steep at least 3 minutes. You can reuse the bag for 1-2 more cups if desired.
11. I like to unplug my machine. Did you know that electrical appliances use power wattage even though the machine is turned off?
To use a Keurig K-cup Pod
Use same instructions as above but make these changes:
3. Place empty mug on base.
5. Lift bar and insert K-cup of your choice. Lower the bar lever.
6. Select type: strong or other.
Note: Some of the K-cups can be used for a second cup, example: Bigelow Green Tea K-CUPS.
Standard cup of tea with a Tea ball/spoon/strainer.
Use same instructions as above but make these changes:
3. Add 1 1/2 -2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea into the tea ball, close it. Set it in a mug and place on the base.
10. Steep about 6 minutes or to your desired strength.
Hot Chocolate
I found with making hot chocolate in the Keurig that the K-pod one was disappointing, so I prefer using the Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate with marshmellows, from the bulk canister package and add the amount I like to the mug, then make it as if making a cup of tea (above). Of course, I add extra marshmellows and 1-2 teaspoons Torani raspberry (almond or another) syrup/flavoring too, and give it a stir! And since we've come this far, you might as well go ahead and top it with real whipped cream and tiny chocolate chips, shavings or sprinkles. This is my All Time Bar None favorite hot drink.
