Keurig Update: Swiss Porridge

See 2016 bog for how to use this machine.

Swiss Porridge

2  (1.2oz.) packages sweetened instant oatmeal.  Pour into mug.

1 scoop dry milk powder (Walmart) or 1 1/2 tablespoons, add to mug and stir.

6-8 oz. Keurig hot water, add to mug.  Stir, cover, sit for 3 minutes then stir again.

1/2 cup mixed raspberries and blackberries, add to mug.

Powder sugar,  sift it over the berries.  It's easy to add a bit to a tea spoon, close it and shake it over the berries.

Add less water for a firmer cereal, if desired.

Keurig and Campbell's Fresh-Brewed Soup

See my 2016 Keurig blogs about how to use this machine.  There are 6 broth k-cup pods and noodle packets in one box.

Homestyle Chicken Broth and Noodle Soup Mix

1.  Insert K-pod into the Keurig machine and pour the packet into a cup.  Close lid.

2.  Dispense 8 oz. water into a 12 oz. mug.  Sir and cover.  Let sit 2-3 minutes.  Stir and it's ready to eat!

Eat as above or stir in one link or a small amount of thinly sliced cooked sausage(Aldi) and wait 1 more minute then you can eat.

Great to keep on hand for when someone is ill or for anytime you are ready for a cup of soup.

Keurig Breakfast Grits

Here's one more thing you can make in your Keurig machine.  Leave it buttery plain as is or use any add ins or toppings you like.  See my 2016 Keurig blogs for more information or on how to use this machine.

Hot Spicy Grits

1.  Pre-heat water.
2.  Empty 2 packages Quaker Instant Grits, Butter Flavor into a large size mug with:
1 tablespoon each large chunks of dried pineapple and candied ginger (health food store)
     1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3.  Dispense 8 oz. hot water, stir, especially in the bottom edges of the dish.  Cover for 2 minutes.
Stir and add 1-2 tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup (from Aldi) and sprinkle with raisens.

Candied ginger can be hot spicy.  If you are not used to it's heat factor, you may want to add in less or omit it.  Or try it in tiny pieces.  I like the hot spicy burst of flavor and leave mine in a larger chunk.  You don't need to press the lid down tight but just set it across the top of the mug.

I really like this Corning Ware Mug with it's lid.  It's worth the price.  I bought this one at Walmart.  It's great for any mega size hot drinks, hot cereals, cup of pasta or soups and works great for when you are eating in your recliner chair and watching T.V., Netflicks or a movie.  I also picked up a mug at a second hand store although it did not come with the lid.  My local $1.00 store has a light cream colored one pretty close to this one so you can buy 6-7 of these cheaper ones without lids for the price of the higher quality Corning Ware one with it's lid.

One of my next projects for my Keurig is to set up a designated area complete with mugs, k-cups and all other Keurig items in one spot.  See my 2016 Pinterest posting link for how others have set up their stations.
